How It Works

Each month throughout the spring semester has a theme.

Each week, a new video lesson will be delivered in our closed Facebook group- bringing you tangible info that you can watch live or at your convenience later. Along with downloadable course notes and worksheets, you get the knowledge in bite-sized chunks.

I designed the class this way on purpose- I know how hard it is to try to a) learn a new topic and then b) implement it when you've got a hundred other things on your professional plate. Each week, you'll get one lesson and be assigned one task that you can put to work right away. Plus, I'm here for live Q&As and one-on-one coaching seessions, in addition to the support of our community of veterinary marketing peeps just like you! By the end of the semester, not only will you have learned the skills, but you'll have implemented them too!

This 4-month masterclass includes:

  • FOUR hours of RACE-CE approved credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
  • All course notes and materials.
  • Lifetime access to a closed Facebook group, including all the videos, materials, questions and challenges!
  • Weekly lessons and live Q&As
  • One-on-one coaching
  • Certificate of completion for employee verification
  • Community of peers for support, ideas and more!

What our previous Veterinary Social Media 101 Students Said:

"This was a phenomenal course. Caitlin is very knowledgeable and well spoken. She is very good at speaking to your level. The community she created is great and I plan to follow their pages."

"I really enjoyed this class! Having managed social media/website content before, I found that having a basic knowledge of a lot of the programs we talked about was definitely helpful and made it so that I could take my social media game to the next level! I really enjoy creating graphics and the insights of when traffic is highest, etc. So I really loved learning more about all of it!"

"This was a fantastic course! It was SO helpful!"

About Your Instructor

Caitlin DeWilde, DVM (@thesocialdvm)

Hey there! My name is Caitlin DeWilde, and I'll be teaching this course and running our Facebook group! You may have heard of my consulting firm, The Social DVM. I'm a veterinarian, and I'm as passionate about social media and marketing as I am about pets. I truly believe that social media can help us better connect with and better educate our pet owners. Better informed pet owners = healthier pets! That's a win for me, and if doing so also builds our client loyalty and increases our revenue, that's a huge bonus as well.

I've been in the veterinary field for more than half my life, and I've always loved the business, management and marketing aspects. I have a degree in agribusiness as well as my DVM (any other U of Illinois fans out there?!?), and I've been a practicing veterinarian for almost ten years. I've spent a fair amount of time in all types of practice- mixed animal, small private small animal, and even corporate settings, so I've seen the varieties of challenges -- and opportunities -- different practices can create.

I started The Social DVM five years ago because I realized it was a perfect way to combine my passion for medicine, client education, marketing, and my techy geekdom. I love working with other veterinarians and veterinary team members and have met some really amazing people from all walks of life.

I've worked with individual veterinarians, entire veterinary practices, and several veterinary industry groups to help them learn the technical details of rocking social media -- specific to their individual goals and personality.

Ultimately, I think social media is best done by an individual or team within the practice rather than sourcing it out to a company. It's our only tool to infuse our personality and differentiate ourselves from the other veterinarian down the street. PLUS, it takes something unique and different for clients to "slow their scroll" while perusing their newsfeed!

I created this class because I want to help other veterinary teams. Learning social media isn't hard, but it's hard to do when you're looking at your online presence as a whole, along with the beeping IV fluid pump, the barking dog, the pile of records and the million other things veterinarians, technicians, receptionists and practice managers do EVERY DAY.

I've broken up all the info you need to establish a solid online foundation into bite-sized chunks. Using our private, student-only Facebook group, you'll have the ability to do a short weekly lesson every week, and I'll recommend one task to complete-- on your schedule. You'll have all the resources, videos and handouts in one place- forever! Plus, the ability to ask questions and find help from me and your classmates, all semester long!

It's going to be a great semester, and I can't wait to help you learn how to take your practice to the next level. If you want to know more about me or the class, shoot me a note here!
